I assisted with the running of a printmaking and photography workshop based at Prynne Chapel print studios. The two-day workshop was organised by Plymouth based photography organisation Fotonow CIC and was part of the Plymouth Summer Mix course programme for 11-19 year olds.
Led by a photographer, participants were encouraged to explore Union Street in Plymouth and look at the architecture, patterns and colours within the area and then to take the images and research made on their walks back into the studio for image making-sessions. The kids used cyanotype, lino cut, collage and monotype to create striking imagery that captured some of the visual elements they found on their initial research gathering session.
Here are a selection of some of the images made during the course.
